Blog... How Are You Tailgating?

By Steve Cooke 13 Apr, 2017

In NASCAR, the tailgating goes on for days, as fans pull their recreational vehicles, campers and converted buses into race tracks in the days leading up to the weekend’s NASCAR races to camp at the track, tailgating for several days. Sound like heaven?

Race weekends at a given track often include at least two and sometimes three of the national series, and sometimes a regional series like the K&N Pro Series race is thrown into the weekend schedule of on-track activity. With so many races packed into the weekend, a typical NASCAR weekend lasts at least three days, but fans don’t wait until the last minute to get to the track property to set up their camping/tailgating sites. At some tracks, these camping fans roll in nearly a week before the big premier series race.

NASCAR has a reputation of being a fan-friendly sport, with many fans having access to garage and pit areas before races and throughout race weekends. Campers at some tracks have additional opportunities. Richmond isn’t the only track at which drivers get in on the tailgating/camping. Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway campers are notorious for their parties along Talladega Blvd. within the 2.66-mile track’s infield, and drivers often participate in a parade and visit fans’ campsites for the festivities.

What better way to tailgate at a race than with a Homefield Tailgate? Everyone will have their mind on cars and you'll have a tailgate table that is a replica of a truck!

Homefield Tailgate has partnered with The Sandbag Store to bring you quality sandbags to support the stability of your tailgate table. We recommend using a saddle sandbag to put over the leg frame structure during inclement weather such as high winds or wind gusts.

Saddle Sandbags get their name from their two-pocket design, which resemble, when being carried or draped over items. Saddle Sandbags are used almost exclusively to add weight (to hold something in place). Props, scenery, and music stands are a just few examples of items that had to be secured by saddle sandbags during live performances.

Now you won’t need to worry about your tailgating set up even during inclement weather because of the partnership with Homefield Tailgate and The Sandbag Store.

Homefield Tailgate even has a 5% discount with The Sandbag Store when you visit www.sandbagstore.com and enter the coupon code of “HFTailgate”.

We had a great time at the Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL. We were invited by Tailgater Magazine to partner with them at the game because the magazine knows the value and fun that our product brings to a tailgating atmosphere. We participated in the Fan Fair on Friday inside the convention center and even received some television media coverage from Channel 6 and also from the University of Auburn! Be sure to look for us soon!

On Saturday we were tailgating with the big boys in the corporate area outside Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Our space with Tailgater Magazine and Briggs&Stratton was right next to Coca-Cola and Regions Bank! We were also fortunate to be near all the food just across the way from us! So as people were getting something to eat and picking up a Coke, they stopped by to check out the all-new Homefield Tailgate!

Lots of people on Saturday heard us answer the question of "How Are You Tailgating?" by letting them know they can put a Homefield Tailgate anywhere they like; kitchen, living room, backyard, or patio.... and tailgate at home when their team is away!

Homefield Tailgate is happy to be a sponsor this year to the   2017  Father & Son Bowl ! What a great event to have the day before the Super Bowl!

The Father & Son Bowl  is a community backyard style flag football event for men and boys 5 and older. We have a fun day of football and create memories that last a lifetime. The event includes a punt, pass and kick Skill Zone. Tailgate Zone with food vendors, cornhole and door prizes. Live DJ, sideline and game news reporters, high energy pregame rallies and fly overs! This is not a serious competition, except for braggin’ rights. You don’t have to be athletic or in shape, it’s all about having a fun time.

Over 1,200 players will gather for a great time at the 11th annual Father & Son Bowl . The goal of the Father&Son Bowl  is to bring fathers and sons closer together and encourage fathers to be the loving and strong leaders that they are created to be! Homefield Tailgate  is so honored to be a part of this great event and cause!

A portion of the proceeds benefit fatherless children through Franktown Open Hearts and Justice and Mercy International.

Traffic can make one’s mind wonder, specially if you’re wondering how you could pull the tailgate off the truck in front of you and turn it into a free standing table. That’s pretty much how the Homefield Tailgate™ was born, well, with imagination and a pad of paper with a pencil! Everything about the unprecedented Homefield Tailgate™ is authentic to being a tailgate. You’ll set it up and take a walk around it to see that it appears to be a tailgate from a 360* view. First there were pencil sketches, then graphic designs, then more pencil sketches, and more graphic designs. Next there were manufacturing companies, traveling, manufacturing companies, and more traveling. Now our production is underway and the Homefield Tailgate™ has actually materialized! Gone are the days of searching your garage for whatever might work for a tailgate party. Now all your tailgating gear is centered around your new Homefield Tailgate™!
